Your trust matters to us

Plain-language privacy, because the people we serve have had enough fine print.

Effective date: October 14, 2026

The short version

We only collect what you choose to send us, we use it only to help you, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone. That's the whole idea.

What we collect

When you fill out our contact form, we receive the information you enter — your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and the details of your message. We don't require you to create an account, and we don't collect anything you don't type in yourself.

This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. Fonts and images are served directly from this site.

How we use your information

We use what you share for one purpose: to understand your situation and connect you with the right resources and support. A real person reads your message and follows up with you.

With your permission, we may share relevant details with a trusted partner organization when doing so is necessary to get you help — for example, a referral to a benefits counselor, clinic, or housing program. We'll always aim to make that a warm hand-off, not a hand-off into the unknown.

What we never do

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We don't send it to advertisers. We don't use it to market unrelated products to you.

How your information is protected

Contact-form messages are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and delivered to a monitored inbox. We limit access to the people who need it to respond to you, and we keep your information only as long as it's useful for helping you.

Links to other sites

We point you to helpful outside resources like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, and the Veterans Crisis Line. Once you leave our site, those organizations' own privacy policies apply. We're not responsible for their content or practices, but we only link to resources we trust.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to see what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Just reach out through our contact form and tell us what you'd like.

A note on who we are

Mi Service Matters is an independent Michigan community organization. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or the U.S. Department of Defense. We help you connect to the official programs and benefits you’ve earned.

Questions?

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, please reach out through our contact form. We’re glad to help.
